Luft besteht jedoch haupts\u00e4chlich aus Stickstoff (fast 80 %!). Das Ergebnis: Die Rauchgase enthalten nur wenig CO\u2082 (nur 10 bis 15 %).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stickstoff wird insbesondere als W\u00e4rmetr\u00e4ger genutzt und ist daher keineswegs nutzlos. Bei der Verbrennung in Gegenwart von N\u2082 entstehen Stickoxide, die f\u00fcr die S\u00e4ureverschmutzung verantwortlich sind.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Oxy-Verbrennung \u00e4ndert dieses Schema: Anstelle von Luft wird nahezu reiner Sauerstoff (95\u201399 %) verwendet, der in einer Luftzerlegungsanlage erzeugt wird. Um zu verhindern, dass die Flamme zu hei\u00df wird, wird ein Teil der bereits CO\u2082- und wasserdampfreichen Abgase zur\u00fcckgef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wie es zusammenfasst <strong>Lockwood<\/strong> und seine Kollegen in <strong>ACS Omega (2023)<\/strong>, dieses Prinzip \u201cerm\u00f6glicht die Erzeugung eines Gasstroms, der wesentlich einfacher zu behandeln ist und in dem CO\u2082 und Wasserdampf vorherrschen\u201d, insbesondere ohne NOx.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Die Vorteile der Oxy-Verbrennung<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ein fast stickstofffreier Rauchstrom<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Wenn man den Stickstoff aus der Gleichung herausnimmt, erh\u00e4lt man Gase, bei denen CO\u2082 70 bis 90 % des Volumens ausmacht (nach Kondensation des Wassers).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eine vereinfachte Erfassung<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Bei einer herk\u00f6mmlichen Verbrennung sind aufwendige Verfahren erforderlich, um das verd\u00fcnnte CO\u2082 abzuscheiden. Hier gilt, wie es hei\u00dft <strong>Toftegaard et al. in <\/strong><strong><em>Kraftstoff<\/em><\/strong><strong> (2010)<\/strong>, \u201cdie Reinigung wird erheblich erleichtert, was die Energiekosten der Wassergewinnung senkt\u201d.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kompatibilit\u00e4t mit verschiedenen Brennstoffen<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Die Oxy-Verbrennung wurde mit Kohle, Erdgas, Biomasse und sogar bei der Zementherstellung getestet. Laut einem Bericht der\u2019<strong>IEA Bioenergy (2022)<\/strong>, sie ist besonders vielversprechend in Branchen, deren Dekarbonisierung schwierig ist, wie beispielsweise der Zement- oder der Stahlindustrie.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ein Schritt in Richtung CO\u2082-Verwertung&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dass die Oxy-Verbrennung so gro\u00dfes Interesse weckt, liegt nicht nur an der CO\u2082-Abscheidung, sondern auch an der <strong>wiederverwenden<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ein konzentrierter und relativ reiner CO\u2082-Strom er\u00f6ffnet zahlreiche M\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr <strong>Bewertung<\/strong> : Methanolproduktion, Herstellung synthetischer Kraftstoffe, mineralische Karbonatisierung oder sogar die Ern\u00e4hrung von Mikroalgenkulturen.
