Una nuova tecnologia, basata sul riciclo della CO\u2082 dai fumi di combustione e sulla sua conversione in carburanti elettronici come il metanolo, apre una strada pi\u00f9 semplice e pragmatica per accelerare la decarbonizzazione delle attivit\u00e0 industriali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Un percorso pi\u00f9 semplice verso la decarbonizzazione&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>La CO\u2082 non viene pi\u00f9 rifiutata, ma recuperata.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Il processo si basa su elementi tecnologici collaudati: elettrolisi, catalisi e processi di riciclo dei gas di scarico.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'integrazione \u00e8 quindi meno dirompente per gli operatori rispetto all'abbandono totale della combustione dei combustibili fossili a favore di un'economia totalmente a idrogeno.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Riduzione dei rischi di trasporto e stoccaggio<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'idrogeno ha <strong>rischi maggiori legati alla sua bassissima densit\u00e0 e all'elevata infiammabilit\u00e0.<\/strong>. I rapporti INERIS sottolineano che il suo stoccaggio impone gravi vincoli di sicurezza (infragilimento dei materiali, rischi di esplosione, rilevamento delle perdite)\u3010INERIS, 2021\u3011. Al contrario, molecole come il metanolo sono <strong>liquidi a temperatura ambiente<\/strong>Questi sono ben noti all'industria chimica e dispongono gi\u00e0 di standard controllati di stoccaggio e logistica\u3010IEA, 2021\u3011. Ci\u00f2 riduce notevolmente la complessit\u00e0 operativa e i rischi per gli operatori.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tecnologia <\/strong><strong>aggiuntivo<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Il processo di riciclo dei gas di scarico con il generatore di ossigeno elettrolitico consuma contemporaneamente la CO2 della combustione, produce metanolo e produce l'ossigeno necessario alla combustione per produrre calore.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Questo processo di produzione in loco elimina la necessit\u00e0 di trasportare e stoccare grandi quantit\u00e0 di idrogeno.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L'industria del metanolo \u00e8 <strong>gi\u00e0 maturo<\/strong> Esistono molti processi catalitici e infrastrutture globali per la produzione, il trasporto e l'utilizzo (ad esempio, combustibili marini, chimica di base)\u3010Olah et al., 2018\u3011.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questo vi d\u00e0 il vantaggio di <strong>velocit\u00e0 di implementazione<\/strong> alla soluzione di riciclaggio della CO\u2082.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I limiti dell'idrogeno<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nonostante i vantaggi teorici, l'idrogeno deve affrontare una serie di ostacoli:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Nessuna infrastruttura<\/strong> : il trasporto e la distribuzione richiedono investimenti colossali\u3010Consiglio Idrogeno, 2020\u3011.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sicurezza<\/strong> rischi di esplosione e perdite (infragilimento del materiale)\u3010INERIS, 2021\u3011.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Competitivit\u00e0<\/strong> Il costo \u00e8 ancora troppo elevato rispetto ad alternative come il metanolo, l'ammoniaca o i biocarburanti sintetici\u3010ADEME, 2022\u3011.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conclusione<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Piuttosto che affidarsi esclusivamente all'idrogeno, la decarbonizzazione comporter\u00e0 anche delle soluzioni <strong>intermediario, pragmatico e redditizio<\/strong>.
