No entanto, a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de oxig\u00e9nio puro consome muita energia. Uma alternativa consiste em desenvolver processos capazes de converter CO\u2082 em mol\u00e9culas de interesse, produzindo ao mesmo tempo oxig\u00e9nio puro como coproduzido.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sistemas biol\u00f3gicos: a fotoss\u00edntese natural<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As plantas, as algas e as cianobact\u00e9rias fixam o CO\u2082 com recurso \u00e0 luz, produzindo mol\u00e9culas org\u00e2nicas como a\u00e7\u00facares, l\u00edpidos e \u00e1cidos org\u00e2nicos. O oxig\u00e9nio \u00e9 libertado durante a oxida\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00e1gua no fotobiorreator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vantagens<\/strong> : processo natural, direto, com recurso a energia solar ou artificial de baixo consumo.&nbsp;<br><strong>Limites<\/strong> : rendimento fotossint\u00e9tico fraco (&lt; 5 %), necessidades importantes de superf\u00edcie e recursos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sistemas artificiais inspirados na fotoss\u00edntese: a) Fotoss\u00edntese artificial: <\/strong>Esta abordagem inspira-se na fotoss\u00edntese natural, mas com um rendimento melhorado.
