W PLATFORM RAISES OVER 1 M€ TO ACCELERATE CO₂ UTILIZATION
Two years after a first fundraising of 2 million euros, which allowed the industrialization of its fermentation CO₂ capture solutions, W Platform announces a new funding round of over 1 million euros. This funding round was led by the fund VitiRev Innovation and managed by the teams of Demea Invest, associated with the platform crowdfunding TUDIGOThe operation will allow the Gironde-based company, supported by the UNITEC technopole, to accelerate its commercial development, expand its offerings to new sectors, and prepare for European expansion.
Turn an environmental constraint into an industrial resource
In a context where industrial decarbonization and CO₂ supply sovereignty are becoming major issues, CO₂ is now considered a resource to be valued rather than a simple industrial waste. However, many industrialists continue to purchase CO₂ of fossil origin imported over long distances. W Platform offers an alternative based on the local valorization of emissions already present at production sites.
Co-founded by Matthieu Planté, W Platform develops technologies to capture, purify, compress, and store CO₂ from industrial and biological processes at high pressure. W Platform addresses the growing challenges of decarbonization and the sovereignty of biogenic CO₂ supplies.
Founded in 2021, W Platform has quickly established itself as an innovative player in the field of biogenic CO₂ utilization. After installing its first CO₂ Box at Château Latour in 2023, the company raised €2 million in its first funding round in 2024, won the Brassinov Award for its technology, and expanded its operations into the brewing market. In 2025, it obtained a patent for its CO₂ Box and surpassed 20 clients, demonstrating the rapid growth of its business.
The company is currently active in several industries: viticulture, brewery, anaerobic digestion, and industryIts equipment allows for capturing CO₂ at the source to reuse it directly in industrial processes or transform it into higher value-added products.
According to W Platform, the deployed installations allow for the recycling of tens to several thousand tons of CO₂ per year, depending on the applications.
A proven track record in sales
The company now boasts more than twenty client references in the wine industry, including Drappier Champagne, Château Latour, Château Grand Puy Lacoste, but also in the brewing industry: Azimut Brewery, Sainte Colombe Brewery, Brasserie La Seillonne…
After initially focusing its developments on the wine sector, W Platform is gradually expanding its scope to other sectors facing challenges related to supply, cost, and CO₂ carbon footprint.
A solution specifically designed for anaerobic digesters was developed in 2026 with support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region to enable the recovery of CO₂ emitted by these digesters. At the same time, the company continues to operate as an engineering design firm, assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in developing environmentally responsible treatment processes that promote the implementation of a circular economy. In 2026, for example, it worked on behalf of the startup EVERDYE, which specializes in low-carbon textile dyeing processes based on recyclable and reusable dyes. This diversification has now become a key driver of the company’s growth.
Funding the Scale-Up
The fundraising effort, which brings together long-standing investors and new shareholders, aims to support the company’s scaling up.
The funds raised will be used, in particular, to expand the sales teams, support business growth in France and Europe, and accelerate the rollout of new offerings for the anaerobic digestion and industrial markets. The company, which currently has a staff of 8, aims to double its workforce within 3 years.
A market driven by decarbonization
In a context of strengthening climate regulations and a gradual increase in the cost of carbon, marked by supply disruptions, the valorization of biogenic CO₂ appears to be one of the levers enabling CO₂ consumers to simultaneously reduce their emissions and their operating costs. W Platform intends to position itself within this long-term dynamic and aims to become a leading European player in the circular carbon economy.
“We are seeing a profound shift in the expectations of winemakers and brewers. CO₂ is no longer viewed solely as an emission to be reduced, but also as a resource that can be harnessed in their internal processes to achieve complete self-sufficiency in the supply of inert gases, which are essential to their production cycles. In viticulture, CO₂, in the form of dry ice, helps protect the grape harvest, and in the form of snow or gas, it is used to inert the presses, tanks, and facilitate the transfer of wine while preventing any oxidation that could degrade the wine’s quality. In the context of global warming, this fermentation-derived CO₂ is becoming an indispensable resource for ensuring the long-term quality of wines. In the brewing industry, CO₂ is one of the main inputs. With our systems, we enable brewers to be independent and avoid price increases and potential delivery issues. With the CO₂ BOX and Micro CO₂ Box solutions, we can offer them a return on investment within 3 to 5 years while helping them reduce their carbon footprint. This funding round will allow us to accelerate our growth to meet this growing demand.”
